California Whopper
What makes something "California"? I tried Burger King's California Whopper to find out. The bun and burger are pretty standard, nothing California about them; so are the mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato. The inclusion of Swiss cheese and bacon (bacon being a way to impart a meat flavor when your burgers are small) would make for a bacon-Swiss burger. The only thing unusual was guacamole, which is associated with Mexico.
I was confused. But then I realized, it wasn't the word "California" I should be paying attention to, but "Whopper".
